Chlorine Service (SL027) Suitable for weatherproof environment where chlorine is present -40 degrees to 100 degrees C (-40 degrees to 212 degrees F)
Oxygen (SL029) Suitable for weatherproof environment where oxygen is present. Is approved to British oxygen spec. number 399797/903 -40 degrees to 100 degrees C (-40 degrees to 212 degrees F)
British Gas V6 (SL035) Manufactured in accordance with BGC specifications which include input locking and facilities for subsequent motorization -40 degrees to 100 degrees C (-40 degrees to 212 degrees F)
Weatherproof (SL039) This is the most common specification manufactured and is generally in accordance with IP 67 1 EC 144 (international electro technical commission- degrees of protection of enclosure) giving protection against jets of water from any direction -40 degrees to 100 degrees C (-40 degrees to 212 degrees F)
Marinized (SL040) Suitable for ship decks, oil rings, shore based installations subject to salt water spray. Also recommend where cost permits, for dry space areas, as a safeguard against the operator being subsequently moved to deck installation -40 degrees to 100 degrees C (-40 degrees to 212 degrees F)
Admiralty (SL041) Built to admiralty specifications, which includes ductile iron casting and stainless trim and is supplied complete with padlocking flanges -40 degrees to 100 degrees C (-40 degrees to 212 degrees F)
US Navy Bronze (SL043) Designed to US Navy specifications, following MILV 24624, Type 3 and 4, utilizing bronze/ non-ferrous materials
US Navy (ductile) (SL044) Designed to US Navy specifications, following MILV 24624, Type 1 and 2, utilizing nodular cast iron and corrosion resistant steel
Extreme Environments (SL048) Stainless Steel construction. High performance series with 10 frames sizes up to 2.5 million in-lbs. (270,000 Nm) of output torque
Submersible (crude oil/ sea water) (SL050) This specification was primarily designed for in tank locations of crude oil. Tankers carry either crude oil or sea water ballast subject to a maximum head of 25 meters (82 feet) 0 degrees to 60 degrees C (32 degrees to 140 degrees F)
Submersible (mixed and refined products) (SL052) Similar to SL050 with the exception that all of the sealing elements are of an inert type such as P.T.F.E. and will not subsequently break down due to attack by mixed product cargos.

Units submerged in refined petroleum products, such as petrol, diesel oil and aviation spirits, require this specification.

Fire Safe (SL060) All sized of manual gear operators can be built to this specification which includes special bearings and lubrications. Development and testing has been carried out in conjunction with valve makers in accordance with BS5146: 1974 which requires the valve to operate satisfactorily after the fire -40 degrees C (-40 degrees F) to fire condition
Buried Service (Dry Chamber) (SL070) For dry applications subject to occasional flooding by fresh water. Stainless steel input shaft eliminates possibility of corrosion and seizure -40 degrees to 100 degrees C (-40 degrees to 212 degrees F)
Buried Service (West Chamber) (SL071) Intended for use in fresh water flooded pits. The head of water should not exceed 3 meters (10ft). Stainless steel trim prevents corrosion and additional sealing is fitted to protect against the ingress of water. -40 degrees to 100 degrees C (-40 degrees to 212 degrees F)
(Compacted Soil) Buried Service (SL072) Suitable for applications where soil is compacted around the actuator. It is necessary to connect a standpipe to the input facing to protect rotating input parts.

Desert (SL075) Suitable for “desert applications”. Stainless steel trim and sealing of all faces and openings prevent corrosion and ingress of the fine dust.

There is no indicator cap. The top of the quadrant is covered by a blanking cap (the gearbox) is hermetically closed from the outside world.
